The Emerson Brewing Company Limited

Success at 2008 Australian International Beer Awards - 02/05/2008

The Emerson Brewing Company has once again had success at the Australian International Beer Awards (AIBA). The Dunedin based brewery has won two gold awards, one silver and three bronzes for a range of their products.

Head Brewer and Managing Director, Richard Emerson says “We have been exhibiting and entering the AIBA for eleven years now and it is a valuable gauge of the international market and how our beers are perceived by the market and international peers. The team here are thrilled with these awards. I am particularly pleased that Taieri George has been awarded gold as it is a brew that honours my late father and is currently on seasonal release”.

The Micro Brewery categories had a total of nine gold awards and two of them were presented to The Emerson Brewing Company.

The Australian International Beer Awards are held in Melbourne annually and this year attracted 1084 entries from 42 countries.

The awards are the second largest beer awards held in the world – the largest is the World Beer Cup held in the United States.
