New Brewer's Reserve - 18th Jun 2010

HOPPIEST INDIAN      June 2010 Release

Hoppiest Indian is the first in a series of beers that we have themed Red IPA’s – a NZ first maybe? NZ Pale malt, along with Munich, CaraRed and CaraMunich form the malt base. A high alpha NZ hop and US Centennial flip flop their way through the boil with both hops used in large quantity in a series of warm and cold dry hopping. We’ve gone out on a limb – we maxed the hops out to really explore how two high alpha acid hops from two hemispheres work together. Some may say it’s out of balance – we say its ‘well hopped’ and get a life. It follows no style guideline and why should it – it’s an Emerson’s Brewer’s Reserve, made for the brewers by the brewers – you’re just lucky to have it on a tap near you.

The malt hangs in there – just, but it’s the big alpha hops that dominate, on the nose from the dry hopping and again on the finish.

Tune in for the Hoppiest Indian part deux ….. a little more alcohol, a little more malt… or maybe not …

Cheers
